Nollywood actor and human rights advocate Yomi Fabiyi has announced plans to lead a peaceful protest demanding justice for the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad.

Fabiyi made the announcement on his Instagram page, stating that the protest would take place on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The protest aims to urge the state government to establish a committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s death. Fabiyi alleged that those responsible for the singer’s death are spending large sums of money to cover up the case, destroy evidence, and distract the public.

He claimed that CCTV cameras inside and outside MohBad’s house were operational, and the footage was stored remotely, not on-site.

MohBad passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances. Formerly signed to Marlian Music, owned by Naira Marley, MohBad left the label in February 2022.

MohBad’s body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy, but a pathologist revealed in court that the cause of death could not be determined due to the body’s decomposition.

The investigation faced further complications when a US-based lab, NMS Labs, denied conducting toxicology tests on MohBad’s postmortem samples, despite the Lagos State Government’s claims. However, NMS Labs later confirmed that the tests.
