EKO HOT BLOG reports that a violent clash between insurgents of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) and the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, in Borno State has led to the killing of a wanted Commander, Ummate Ma, and scores of his fighters.
It was gathered that Ummate Ma also known as Muhammad, who was a Khayd (Governor), and several of his fighters were gunned down on June 1, when ISWAP terrorists launched an ambush on the Commander’s convoy at Mandara Mountain in the axis of Gwoza Local Government Area (LGA), on their way to Cameroon.

The ISWAP-coordinated attack was believed to be in response to the killing of a senior Commander, Abou Sadiqou Buorubouru and several other terrorists who were ambushed recently by Boko Haram in the fringes of Mandara Mountain.
