A road traffic accident involving a Toyota Hilux pick-up has led to the death of a motorcyclist on Eziama-Uli Road, in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra.
Mr Andrew Kumapayi, State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Wednesday.
Kumapayi said the accident, which occurred at about 4.p.m., was caused by speeding and loss of control.

“The crash involved a motorcycle without a registration number and a Toyota Hilux pick-up, also without a registration number.
“Eyewitness report reaching us indicates that the driver of the Toyota Hilux pick-up, while speeding, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the motorcycle rider.
“The motorcyclist died on the spot and his body was deposited at the morgue in Ark Angel Hospital in Ihiala by FRSC rescue team from Ihiala Unit Command,” he said.
The road safety boss said the driver of the Hilux pick-up vehicle had been handed over to the police for further investigation.
While condoling with the family of the dead, he urged motorists to drive within the speed limits allowed by law.
