EKO HOT BLOG reports that a container was seen to have fallen from a trailer at Lagos highway on Friday morning.
According to LASTMA, a motorist escaped death as the container was found to have fallen on his car.
The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. in front of De-Rembrandt Hotel inward Alausa in Ikeja area of Lagos State, when the driver of the trailer suddenly lost control of the vehicle, causing the container to fall off.
As the container fell off, it landed on the oncoming Toyota Camry car, destroying the back passengers side of the vehicle in the process and only God knows what would have happened if it had landed on the driver’s side.
As a result of the incident, there was massive traffic gridlock on the highway while officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were on ground to attend to the situation.
The incident was announced by LASTMA on its Twitter handle which added that the area had been cordoned off for recovery and evacuation of the affected vehicle and container.
