Mr Sanwo-Olu To Flag Off Reconstruction Of Epe/Ibeju-lekki Expressway On Nov. 1st

The Lagos state government has concluded plans to begin the reconstruction of the deplorable Epe/Ibeju lekki expressway on November 1st.
The oloja of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun disclosed this during the Lagos state of Assembly constituency stakeholders meeting, held at the Council Chamber of Epe Local Government at Itamarun on Thursday.
Correspondent Idris Olukoya reports that this year theme is tagged, “Post Covid-19 Pandemic: The Challenges and Prospect.

He said the Governor gave the hint at a meeting held with Community leaders recently.
The flag off was earlier slated to hold on Sunday 25th October 2020 but was rescheduled due to the #EndSARS protest.
Oba Animashaun commended the Lagos state government for her proactiveness in solving the various challenges confronting the nation in this trying period.
The monarch also applauded the youths in the Epe community for ensuring and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during the EndSARS protest.
“I am so happy that our youths from Epe did not destroy or vandalize any government or privately owned properties around the communities.
“I am indeed grateful for such good character exhibited by the youths and I pray they continue in that direction, ” he said.
Mr. Abiodun Tobun, the Lagos state Assembly member, representing Epe Constituency 1, expressed his unalloyed appreciation to the people of the community, for their understanding and love for the ancient town.
“I am indeed happy and overwhelmed that there is no record of violence in the community during and after the EndSARS protest.
“I am so much proud of our youths for maintaining peace and unity in the community, ” he noted.
Mr Tobun urged the youths to always speak out in the areas of deficiency or needs in the community and pledged that the government would address the situation with immediate effect.
“We as a government are ready to take every complaint from the people and we are there to provide solutions, ” he added.
Earlier, Mr. Adedoyin Adesanya, Chairman, Epe local government, expressed his satisfaction in the manner and character exhibited by the youth of the community during the EndSARS protest.
“During the protest, massacre at Lekki, burning of public properties and looting of warehouses were recorded in other environs but Epe youths remained peaceful and protective.
“I am so delighted for such attribute carried out by the youths, I pray they keep it up, ” he said.
Mr Adesanya explained that “As a lover of education, he was ready to do more, to support the educational system in the community and for the people to fullfil their educational career.
He enjoined all the people present at the stakeholders meeting to observe one-minute silence in honor of the late chief Lanre Razak (KLM), one of the Governor Advisory Council, (GAC), member from the Epe Division.
“He was always there for the community and the people whenever we needed him. We were here together last year, but today he is no more, ” he added.
