EKO HOT BLOG reports that Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk is facing severe criticism following the upload of a video on his Instagram account, in which he documented an elderly man exercising in a gym.
The video, shared via his story reel, displayed the man using a rowing machine, with his shorts appearing to have fallen down, resulting in pixelation to preserve his privacy.
Mudryk, who joined Chelsea in January, posted the video on his social media platform, drawing the ire of social media influencer Joey Swoll, renowned for his advocacy of “gym positivity” and boasting over 600,000 followers on Twitter.
In a response video shared on Twitter, Swoll expressed his disapproval of Mudryk’s actions. He highlighted the elderly man’s dedication to self-improvement and questioned Mudryk’s decision to mock and expose him for personal attention, considering the Chelsea forward’s status as a professional athlete in the Premier League.
Swoll emphasized that Mudryk should have either minded his own business or informed the man’s trainer to assist him discreetly. He strongly criticized the soccer player for choosing to capture and share the video online, thereby subjecting the elderly man to public ridicule.
Swoll lamented Mudryk’s failure to recognize the responsibility he holds as a professional athlete and his missed opportunity to set a better example for others.
The controversial Instagram video has sparked widespread outrage on various social media platforms, with numerous users condemning Mudryk for his lack of empathy and poor judgment.
Many have called for an apology from the Chelsea forward, urging him to reflect on the consequences of his actions and the negative impact they can have on individuals’ lives.
As of now, neither Mykhailo Mudryk nor Chelsea Football Club have issued an official statement in response to the backlash.
However, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behavior on social media, particularly for public figures, and the potential repercussions of thoughtless actions that can harm others and tarnish personal and professional reputations.
