Muminu Badmus Bows Out As Lagos Water Corporation MD, Introduces Successor To Staff

Eko Hot Blog reports that all is set for the Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus, to hand over the reins at the government-owned establishment.
According to a statement issued by the LWC management on Friday, the outgoing MD unveiled his successor, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani, to the corporation’s Management team on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the LWC Headquarters, Water-House, Ijora, Lagos.

The official introduction to the Management Staff followed Tijani’s appointment by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
His appointment brought an end to the tenure of Engr. Badmus as the LWC MD having spent nearly eight years at the corporation.
Prior to this appointment, Engr. Tijani was the General Manager of the Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB).
Upon successful completion of his tenure as the GM, Lagos State Electricity Board, he was appointed as LWC MD.
While unveiling the new LWC MD to the Management Staff, Engr. Badmus enjoined the entire staff to cooperate and guide him for a successful tenure in his new role as the corporation’s top chief.
In his statement, the outgoing LWC boss stated that Engr. Tijani is coming with a wealth of experience to guide the corporation through, having worked closely with LWC.
He added that the new MD is already acquainted with the problems hindering LWC efficiency, while advising that staff should speak up towards moving the corporation forward.
In his response, Engr. Tijani appreciated the entire LWC workforce, while looking forward to a good and close working relationship with them.
He urged the staff to speak up on challenges militating against the corporation in order to proffer solutions.
In a Twitter post on Thursday, Tijani thanked the governor for believing in his dedication towards public service.
“Upon the successful completion of my tenure as general manager of the Lagos State Electricity Board, I am honoured to have been appointed managing director of the Lagos State Water Corporation by Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu,” Tijani wrote.
Tijani, an indigene of Lagos Island from the Ita-Agarawu area, attended Adesoye College, Offa, Kwara state.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in Geology from the University of Houston and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, United States. Tijani further obtained postgraduate certificates in power sector regulation from the Florence School of Regulation, Italy, and the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
In 2015, he was appointed special assistant on power in the office of former Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
The new LWC MD/CEO is expected to resume to his office on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
