As a guest on Chef Serge Ibaka’s popular show “How Hungry Are You,” Musiala confessed to never having visited Nigeria, his father’s homeland.
Nonetheless, he shared that he grew up deeply immersed in Nigerian and African cultures.
I’ve never been to Africa before even though I always wanted to but we’ve never really had the time to go over there,” he said.
“My dad is from Nigeria and he always tells me about the culture and everything about African foods. My dad made fufu while I was growing up back in England; he made this dish (fufu) every other day.”
Born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father and a German mother with Polish roots, the Bayern ace spent his formative years in England after his family relocated there when he was seven years old.
Considered one of the premier superstars of his generation, the versatile 21-year-old attacker had the option to represent four countries (Nigeria, Germany, Poland, and England) but ultimately chose to play for Die Mannschaft.
The 21-year-old midfielder was cheekily asked by Ibaka about the country he loves the most between Nigeria and Germany.
Respectfully avoiding choosing between the two countries, Musiala gave a diplomatic response.
