My Brand Of Feminism Rooted In Human Rights -Genevieve Nnaji

Delectable Nigerian screen diva and producer, Genevieve Nnaji, has expressed that feminism means nothing to her than without the essence of fundamental human rights. At the recent London School of Economics Africa Summit, the Lionheart producer joined a growing list of female celebrities across the world offering their opinions on what true feminism should mean.

“My own feminism is just human rights. I’m a woman who has rights to her own choices; I can do whatever I want whenever I want. It’s just that simple if I were a man it would be the same thing,” the actress and director, who recently made a bold statement with the acquisition of her second movie by Netflix, noted.

“At the end of the day I was born alone, I’m going to die alone, I breathe alone. So I definitely have the right to how I want to live my life, and as a woman, the fact of the matter is no one needs to tell me otherwise,” she added while speaking at the summit acclaimed to be a reputable platform where professionals, policy makers, corporate bodies and students converge to proffer solutions addressing Africa’s pressing issues.
