My Children Beat Me At Their Mother’s Request- Man Tells Court
- “My wife instigated my children against me. They no longer respect me. They also beat me whenever my wife orders them to.
A Mararaba Upper Area Court in Nasarawa State has granted a man, Emmanuel Praise’s request for divorce on grounds that his wife, Elizabeth beats him.
Delivering judgment on Thursday, Justice Abubakar Tijjani, dissolved the 26-year-old union.

“This union was brought to an end in the interest of peace,” the judge held.
Earlier, Praise in his petition told the court that his wife and children no longer respect him and usually beat him without provocation.

“My wife instigated my children against me. They no longer respect me. They also beat me whenever my wife orders them to.
“My children have taken sides with their mother. On Jan. 14, my first son, Wisdom, 24, beat me up and injured me on my neck and jaw,” he said.
The respondent, however, denied the allegations and did not object to the petitioner’s request for divorce.
