N2bn Fraud: Maina Goes To Court On Wheelchair
The former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, arrived the law court on wheelchair as his trial continued on Thursday.
He is facing trial over his alleged complicity in a N2billion fraud levied against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Trial Justice Okon Abang had fixed Thursday to deliver a ruling on an application the defendant filed to be released on bail pending the determination of the 12-count money laundering charge levied against him by EFCC.
It could be recalled that the former pension boss is facing trial alongside a firm, Common Input Properties & Investment Limited, which the prosecution said was involved in the alleged fraud. And had since been remanded in the kuje Correctional Facility.
It was gathered that the defendant arrived the court at about 9:30 am on wheelchair armed with two first aid boxes.
