FG Budgets N2bn To Fuel EFCC, DSS Vehicles

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) are set to spend a combined total of N2bn on fueling their operational vehicles in 2025, according to the proposed appropriation bill.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Bola Tinubu presented the N47.90tn “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace and Rebuilding Prosperity” to the National Assembly on December 18.

A significant N4.91tn of the budget is allocated to defence and security, underscoring the administration’s focus on addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

An analysis of the proposed budget reveals that the EFCC has earmarked N808.7m for fueling its vehicles and an additional N462m for refreshments and meals. The DSS, on its part, allocated N1.37bn for fueling vehicles and N1.4m for acquiring tactical counter-terrorism equipment.

In addition to vehicle fueling, the DSS has proposed N1.4bn for the procurement of arms and ammunition and N1.1bn for advanced cybersecurity tools to enhance its operations.

Furthermore, the DSS, along with other agencies under the Office of the National Security Adviser, has allocated N960bn in 2025 for maintaining the country’s defence aircraft and acquiring security equipment across various sectors. This allocation reflects the administration’s emphasis on strengthening national security.
