According to Kabiru Kabiru, Public Relations Officer of the commission, preliminary investigations revealed a shocking pattern of deceit.
Each of the 38 Local Government Areas (LGAs) paid N9.150 million to Novomed for drugs that were never delivered. The total amount stolen is staggering, with 38 councils losing millions to the scam.
The commission is working tirelessly to unravel the full extent of the scam and bring those responsible to justice.
The suspects are cooperating with the investigation team and are currently in custody. As the investigation continues, one thing is clear: those who exploit their power for personal gain will be held accountable.
