EKO HOT BLOG reports that Surveillance operations detected unusual activity in the area, with multiple motorcycles and groups of armed fighters converging at the location.
In response, NAF swiftly deployed fighter jets, initiating precision strikes on identified targets, resulting in heavy casualties among the terrorists.
Akinboyewa reported that ISR footage captured several militants assembling on 12 motorcycles, which were subsequently tracked to a primary meeting point. An initial airstrike effectively engaged and destroyed the target.
Shortly after, additional ISR aircraft observed more militants returning to survey the aftermath and assist wounded fighters, prompting follow-up strikes that neutralized even more of the group.
Later that day, further reconnaissance revealed another group of militants gathered under a large tree at a separate meeting site. NAF responded with a precise airstrike, eliminating the gathering and incapacitating their equipment.
“These operations dealt a major blow to Boko Haram’s ability to organize ambushes or hostile actions,” Akinboyewa stated, emphasizing that the success highlights the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai’s commitment to eradicating terrorist threats in northeastern Nigeria.
He added, “The NAF remains resolute in executing precision missions, in joint or solo efforts, to ensure the sovereignty and security of our nation.”
