The agency shared a clip featuring an official explaining that the trucks were intercepted based on a tip-off. The official noted that a credible source indicated these tankers, previously used for vegetable oil, were also being used for petroleum products.
“A credible source told us that the same tanker or truck that they used to load vegetable oil has been used or is being used for petroleum products,” the official said.
“You know that this is a public health issue that requires NAFDAC immediate attention and that is why we immediately went to that area and we caught the truck being loaded and this is the reason we went there to apprehend them and bring those trucks here for further investigation.
