Just like in the 2007/08 season when a drastic change was needed to get Barcelona back into contention of winning European trophies and dominating the domestic league, the club must apply similar tactics in dealing with the current situation.
Joan Laporta was the man in charge of that project under Pep Guardiola and he is trying to replicate that achievement with Ronald Koeman or Xavi Hernandez who many believe possess similar coaching abilities to Pep Guardiola, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Those Staying at the club
Lionel Messi– Messi might be turning 34 this June but, Messi is still head and shoulder above every other Barcelona player.
Only Karim Benzema and Luis Suarez have matched Messi this season. He will be staying at the club.
De Jong– The Dutch ace is a top, top player and he will be staying at Camp Nou.
Inaki Pena– He is young and still has more to learn. He will stay.
Roberto Araujo– He will stay, the lad is the future of Barcelona.
Clement Lenglet– The defender will be staying at Barcelona for the unforeseeable future. He is a very good defender who needs support.
Marc-André Ter Stegen– The German shot-stopper will not be sold this summer or the next because he is a fantastic footballer. He is needed at the club.
Oscar Mingueza– The 22-year-old is the future of the Barcelona football club. He will be staying.
Sergiño Dest– The American defender is the future of the club, he will stay.
Illaix Moriba– The talented defender will not be sold this summer or the next, he will stay on.
Pedri– The right-footed attacking midfielder will not be sold this summer or the next.
Konrad de la Fuente– The youngster will stay on. He won’t be sold
Ansu Fati– He is the future of the club. Some even believe he will be heir to Lionel Messi but first, he has to recover from his injuries for that ascension to start.
Trincao– The right-winger will stay on for another one to two seasons.
Matheus Fernandes- The defensive midfielder will not be sold, he still has more years to play at Barcelona.
Sergio Busquet- The midfielder will be given two options, either he takes a reduced role in the team’s setup or walks away.
If a good offer comes in for him, he will be sold but judging on his loyalty to the club, he will likely accept the reduced role.

Those expected to leave
Neto– He will likely be leaving Barcelona for Arsenal or Villarreal this summer.
Samuel Umtiti– A top defender when fit but a liability when injured. He will be sold this summer.

Junior Firpo– The versatile defender will likely be off this summer. He is a good player but not the right fit for Barcelona.
Gerard Pique– The defender will be remembered as one of the club’s greatest defenders having won 28 trophies.
Pique will be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season once a good offer comes in.
Miralem Pjanic– The midfielder will likely be leaving the club this summer on loan due to his complicated contract.
Signing Pjanic involves paying over $350m which frankly doesn’t make sense.
Ousame Dembele– The French attacker still posses the blistering pace and dribbling skills to beat his marker but, the attacker has rejected a contract extension with the club.
Barcelona is better off selling him rather than losing him for free next season.
Philippe Coutinho- The Brazilian will be sold if a good offer comes in for him. He will go down as the club’s most expensive flop in history.
Martin Braithwaite– The attacker is frankly not good enough to lead Barcelona’s attacking lines. He will be sold off this summer.
Antoine Griezmann– The French attacker is a fantastic player but he is not the player Barcelona needs to win major trophies.
