The statement reads in full:
“The Southwest zonal leadership of NANS became worrisome on how a government will be much more interested in doing a structured business on our campus, when the primarily needed infrastructures to aid a conducive learning environment are not given necessary attention.
“NANS Southwest leadership frowns at the inhumane, wicked and deliberate lackadaisical attitude of Gov Sanwolu by not seeing it necessary to put in place a conducive learning environment before thinking of doing business on our campus.
“It is no longer news that LASU remains one of the schools that education is becoming unaffordable for the sons and daughters of the poor. Lagos State govt thru the management of LASU desperately admits heavy Thousands of students to LASU for every academic session without working on putting in place facilities needed for a conducive learning campus.
“We hereby call on Gov Sanwolu to as a matter of urgency and in the interest of Nigerian Students in LASU, look away from his structured business that he intends doing with the overbearing figure of LASUites on campus and rather build lecture Halls and lecture theatre that will make learning easy for LASUites thereby reduce the stress and threats our students are subjected to daily, all in the name of learning.
“Finally, NANS Southwest leadership calls on Gov Sanwolu to declare State of emergency on education sector in Lagos state. We look forward to your express rescue to this menace as we pray that the good Lord reward you and your children in folds on whatever treatment our students are subjected in Lagos State.”
