In response, NANS acknowledged the hardship caused by recent government reforms and policies but warned that unrest would not solve these problems. National President Comrade Lucky Emonefe emphasized the need for clear assessment and appropriate steps rather than mob action.
He assured that Nigerian students would not support actions that could destabilize the nation, stating, “Cutting off the head is not the antidote for a headache.”
NANS highlighted the importance of patience and resilience, expressing optimism that the positive outcomes of current reforms would soon become evident.
The union distanced itself from the protest, labeling the organizers as economic saboteurs aiming to exploit the situation for selfish political gains. NANS insisted that any legitimate grievances should be addressed through constructive dialogue and engagement, not through incitement to violence.

Additionally, NANS praised the government’s disbursement of the NELFUND student loan, recognizing it as a testament to the government’s commitment to education.
The streamlined process allows eligible students to access loans without intermediaries, promoting transparency and efficiency. NANS committed to maintaining open channels of engagement with the government to hold them accountable for policies aimed at economic revival and hardship alleviation.
NANS urged Nigerian students to focus on their studies and avoid being swayed by those with hidden agendas. Parents were also called upon to guide their children in maintaining academic focus.
To safeguard against infiltration by disruptive elements, NANS established a Coordinating, Monitoring, and Intelligence Gathering (CMIG) team to identify and blacklist individuals attempting to incite violence on campuses.
