Napoli May Lower Victor Osimhen Asking Price

Eko Hot Blog reports that Despite previous assertions that striker Victor Osimhen was not available for transfer, Italian publication Il Mattino has now reported that Napoli is contemplating lowering their asking price of €130 million for their top asset.

Osimhen consistently makes headlines with rumors of his departure from Italy, after establishing himself as one of Europe’s most coveted strikers.
In January, English Premier League giants, Manchester United, reportedly readied a €110m bid in their pursuit of the Nigerian star in the upcoming transfer window.
A few days ago, rivals Chelsea and Arsenal were also said to test the waters for the Napoli striker with €90m offer.
Spanish and French giants, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germaine have all been linked with the players.
“The Blues are interested in Napoli star Osimhen and according to Il Mattino they are ready to place a €90m bid at the end of the season,” Football Italia wrote.
“Arsenal and PSG are also interested in the Nigeria international and are willing to match the Blues’ offer. According to Il Mattino, Napoli could sell Osimhen for less than his release clause in the region of €130m,” the report said.
Despite enduring significant absences at the ongoing 2023/24 season due to injuries and commitments with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the striker has managed to contribute to 14 goals (11 goals and three assists) in 17 appearances in the Italian top-flight league.
The 25 year-old, has been exceptional form for Napoli, guiding the Serie A club to their first league triumph in 33 years by netting a league-leading 26 goals in 32 Serie A fixtures last season, and 31 goals across all competitions.

While representing the national team, Victor Osimhen solitary goal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast belied his significant impact on the team’s journey to the final, where they succumbed to a narrow 2-1 defeat against the hosts.
