Eniola-Isaac was employed by the company in January 2023 and subjected to grueling work hours, often exceeding 20 hours a day, with little rest. Her treatment worsened when she requested her due payment and was physically abused, including having her phone confiscated and being locked in a dog cage by her employer.
NAPTIP facilitated her return to Nigeria with support from various Civil Society Organisations, and the agency is committed to her full rehabilitation and seeking justice for the abuse she endured.
Director-General Adamu-Bello warned Nigerian youths and parents to exercise caution before accepting offers to work abroad, particularly in volatile regions. She revealed that many young women have been intercepted while attempting to travel to such dangerous destinations, especially in the Middle East.
Eniola-Isaac, grateful to be alive, expressed that no one should experience what she went through. NAPTIP continues its efforts to prevent human trafficking and protect vulnerable Nigerians.
