National Association Of Nigerian Students, (NANS), Joint Campus Committee, Lagos Axis, Urges Members To Be Law Abiding

The chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Lagos Axis, Comrade Ogunsanya Rasheed has advised students to shun all forms of violence.

He gave the advice in a Press Release, made available to Journalists in Lagos. Comrade Rasheed stressed that as much as they want their voices to be heard against police brutality and bad governance in the country, there was need for students to be law abiding.

According to Comrade Rasheed, as an association we condemned the use of life bullets on Nigerians during the peaceful protest at Lekki toll gate and across Lagos State.

Lagos is our home and we can’t afford to lose  it to destruction by hoodlums who have hijacked the well organized and peaceful protests across the state and country at large, he noted.

We will continue to engage the Government, also make sure the offenders are brought to book and there is a compensation to the families who lost any members of their family.

The association urged all Nigerian students to stay safe, and ensure that all news posted are from verified sources, noting that fake news would only fuel the chaos at hand and expose people to danger.

We call on student leaders in various institutions to enlighten their members on the need to remain safe and not to engage in any form of violence, Comrade Rasheed added.
