Eko Hot Blog reports that the National Broadcast Academy (NBA) has called on Nigerian broadcasters to maintain high standards in their delivery.
CEO of Biscom TV, Mr. Bisi Olatilo, made the appeal at the recent project inauguration and alumni reunion of the NBA.
In his keynote address, Olatilo noted that there is no substitute for professionalism.
According to the Biscom boss, Nigerian broadcasters are responsible for ensuring that the profession does not lose its standards.
He also urged broadcasters to understand the needs of their audience and align their programmes to suit them.
The programme, which held at Ikeja GRA Lagos, witnessed the inauguration of new projects on the NBA campus.
The NBA director, Mr. Ike Okere, inaugurated projects such as a new multipurpose hall and a new digital studio in honour of the former Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Cooperation, Dr. Christopher Kolade, and the late Sports Commentator, Mr. Ernest Okonkwo, for their contribution to the broadcasting industry and national development.
Mr. Okere also revealed the NBA’s five-step vision to ensure the academy’s growth and development.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the five steps include upgrading the campus facilities, introducing online course programmes, instructor retaining, redeveloping the NBA curriculum, and providing a functional alumni association.
Mr. Olatilo was also nominated as the Chairman of the organising committee for the NBA Reunion Alumni Association.
