The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC),
Phemmy Adetula, has called for the proper harnessing of the discoveries at the just-concluded 5th National Youth Games (NYG) in Ilorin, Kwara, which Team Delta once again emerged champions.
He made the call in an interview with some sports journalists recently in Lagos.

It was gathered that, the medals table for the last day of the NYG showed that Team Delta topped the table with an overall 104 medals.
Team Delta had 41 gold, 32 silver and 31 bronze medals as against the distant second placed Team Lagos which had 72 medals comprising 22 gold, 36 silver and 14 bronze medals.
Team Bayelsa came third with 45 medals: 17 gold, 6 silver and 22 bronze, Team Akwa Ibom occupied the fourth position with 16 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals making a haul of 41 medals.
Team Edo, Ogun, Ondo and Oyo ranked 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th respectively.
The NOC scribe said that he was impressed with the performance of the youngsters, adding that they should be worked upon for future engagements.
“From what I have seen from the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony, this is a good outing by the states.
“For continuity sake, we need to harness the potential discovered during this game by keeping them for future use.
“The standard of competition among the athletes is great, we surely
need them,” he said.
