Nationwide Protest: Heavily Armed Security Personnel Take Over Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos

Heavily armed security personnel have taken over the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos State in anticipation of the August 1 End Hunger Protest.

The deployment aims to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the security presence includes men and officials from the police, civil defense, and road safety units, among others.

Recall that the Lekki Toll Gate was a significant site during the EndSARS protests in 2020.

However, no protester was sighted at the time of filing this report around the area.

Meanwhile, protest has commenced in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Stay tuned for more updates.
