The Zamfara State government has ordered the closure of all schools and suspended the JLC examination due to the nationwide protest against economic challenges starting on August 1.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration in Zamfara State has ordered the immediate closure of all schools in anticipation of the nationwide protest against economic challenges set to begin on Thursday, August 1.
The announcement, made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Barira Bagobiri, emphasized that this measure is crucial for ensuring the safety of students and mitigating potential security risks.
Additionally, Bagobiri stated that the ongoing JLC examination will be temporarily suspended, with a new date for its continuation to be announced later.
“This is to inform the general public that the Hon. Commissioner of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mallam Wadatau Madawaki, has approved the immediate closure of all schools across the state on the 1st August 2024.
“The measure has been taken to avert any security threat that may befall our students on the way to school due to the planned nationwide protest. Similarly, the ongoing JLC Exams is suspended and a new date for its continuation will be announced in due course,” the announcement said.
