Native Doctor Arrested, Over Stolen Company Truck

The Benue State Police Command has arrested a native doctor, Veror Orduen, and a driver, Aondoaver Viaga, for allegedly stealing a truck belonging to CHEC Construction Company.

The arrest followed reports that the driver, tasked with transporting stones for road construction, diverted the truck to an unknown location.

Commissioner of Police Steve Yabnet disclosed that the suspects were found with the vehicle in Ikyurav, Kwande Local Government Area, after a four-day search.

The driver failed to provide a valid reason for taking the truck to the native doctor’s residence and turning off his phone.

Yabnet assured residents of intensified efforts to combat crime in Benue, especially during the festive season.

He also warned criminals to desist from illegal activities or leave the state.

CHEC Construction Company is currently handling the dualisation of the Makurdi-Enugu-9th Mile Road.
