NBBF Mourns As Top Nigerian Basketball Player Dies [PHOTOS]

  • A top Nigerian female Basketball player has been confirmed dead.

  • Aku was diagnosed with acute tuberculosis and cried out for financial assistance while receiving medical attention.

  • She gave up the ghost on Wednesday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigeria Basketball Federation has been thrown into mourning following the death of Joy Aku, a female Nigerian basketball player.

It was gathered that Aku was diagnosed with acute tuberculosis, and had cried out for financial assistance while receiving medical attention.

However, she gave up the ghost on Wednesday.

The late athlete played for renowned club sides such as Sunshine Angels of Akure, FCT Angels, Dolphins and MFM.

Confirming Aku’s demise, a Nigerian basketball stakeholder, Oni Afolabi wrote on Facebook: “Rest in peace Joy. I hope you will be able to play some pickup games with some Nigerian basketball legends that have gone before you.
