NCDC Clears Air On Sharing ‘COVID-19 Funds’ To Nigerians

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has asked Nigerians to disregard any message from some personalities, claiming they are beneficiaries of COVID-19 funds.

This week, several people shared screenshots of messages in which they received, asking them to claim up to N50,000 as palliatives from the federal government.

Meanwhile, the agency in an SMS on Sunday 23rd Of August, warned that it was a scam.

The SMS read: “BEWARE OF SCAM: Disregard any message that you are a beneficiary of COVID-19 funds or your account has been credited by NCDC.

“Delete immediately and do not share.”

Ekohotblog recall that the agency on Saturday night, announced that 601 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the country.

It brings the current tally in the country to 51,905.
