The latest COVID-19 case update provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shown that Nigeria now has 66,439 confirmed cases.
The country’s top disease agency stated that 56 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded on Monday, a sharp decrease in the number of daily cases in months.
According to the NCDC, the new cases were reported from 10 states- Kaduna (18), FCT (17), Lagos (6), Plateau (5), Kano (3), Kwara (2), Yobe (2), Ekiti (1), Niger (1), Rivers (1).

Of the total number of cases confirmed, 1,168 deaths have been recorded while 62,241 cases have been discharged across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Nigeria has tested a total of 743,298 of its estimated 200 million population.
