The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday, reported 1,483 cases of the novel coronavirus across 24 states.
Eko Hot Blog recalls that the figure released by the NCDC on Friday did not include the data for Lagos, which is a hot-spot for the deadly virus.
However, in a Saturday tweet, the NCDC said Lagos had recorded 831 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, taking the daily count to 2,314.

It’s the first time the NCDC has reported over 2,000 cases in one day since it started tracking infections last February.
An update in the figures also saw the death toll rise to 12.
To date, 118,969 cases have now been confirmed across the country – while 94,877 of those cases have been discharged, 1,497 deaths have been recorded.
