NCWS Awards Recap: Remi Tinubu, Princess Sidikatu Disu, Other Influential Women Honoured

Eko Hot Blog reports that the National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS), a pro-women non-governmental and non-partisan organization, has hosted an induction and award ceremony to celebrate remarkable achievements of women in society.

The primary purpose of this distinguished gathering, which held on Thursday, was to recognise and reward women who have made outstanding contributions to society and embody qualities that serve as shining examples for others to follow.

The ceremony featured a diverse assembly of women from various walks of life, including the wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the Governor of Lagos state, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the National President of the NCWS, amongst others.

Princess Sidikatu Ayodele Disu, a Princess in Epe kingdom and former President of the NCWS in Lagos, was one of the women honoured during the ceremony.

She exemplifies the very essence of this recognition. Her remarkable accomplishments in her chosen field have been instrumental in driving positive change for women within her community.

As she stepped onto the stage to receive her award, the room was filled with a sense of admiration and respect for her tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to making a difference.

In her speech, she thanked the NCWS for the honour bestowed on her while wishing the newly installed executives of the council’s Lagos State chapter a successful tenure.

“I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude to the Almighty Allah, the source of all blessings and guidance. It is with immense joy and humility that I express my profound appreciation to the First Lady of Lagos State, the dignitaries present here, and the esteemed organization for the privilege to address you all,” Princess Disu said.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt prayers and best wishes to the newly appointed leaders who are set to take on the responsibilities ahead. May Allah grant them wisdom, courage, and compassion in their endeavors, and may they lead with fairness and a commitment to the betterment of our community.”

The NCWS, in its heartfelt tributes, applauded Princess Disu’s significant contributions and those of other awardees.
