BREAKING: Tinubu Appoints Ndidi As Acting NCoS Controller-General
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as the Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
This development follows the conclusion of Haliru Nababa’s tenure, who served in the role since his appointment on February 18, 2021, by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the announcement was made on Friday by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board. According to the statement, Ndidi’s appointment will take effect from December 15, 2024.
“The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has graciously approved the appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service following the expiration of the tenure of Haliru Nababa,” the statement read.
Ndidi, born on November 26, 1966, in Oguta, Imo State, brings a wealth of experience to the position. Until his appointment, he served as the Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Training and Staff Development Directorate.
Ndidi is a distinguished fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and has been recognized with the national honor of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).
President Tinubu lauded Ndidi’s credentials and expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen the Correctional Service. The President urged him to draw upon his extensive expertise to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service in addressing national security and correctional challenges.
Ndidi’s appointment marks a pivotal transition for the NCoS as the institution aims to advance its mandate under his leadership.
