Eko Hot Blog reports that Nigerian Comedian and media personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu, has set the record straight in his dispute with actress Yvonne Jegede: ‘I don’t hate women!’
Despite recent controversy, Nedu affirmed his respect and appreciation for women, debunking misconceptions about his views on gender.
Nedu’s clarification comes as a response to Jegede’s recent remarks, which insinuated that he held misogynistic views.
The drama unfolded after the actress apologized for her comments on polygamy on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, and Nedu criticized her, leading her to accuse him of hate speech against women.
Nedu emphasized that he is surrounded by women in his personal and professional life, including three daughters and a female manager, disproving claims that he hates women.
He pointed out that the majority of his team and closest associates are females, further solidifying his respect and appreciation for women.
In a video message posted on his Instagram page, Nedu addressed the controversy, saying: “My comments on previous episodes of The Honest Bunch podcast have apparently offended some individuals, leading to misconceptions that I harbour hatred towards women.
“I don’t hate women. I don’t. My manager is a woman, I’ve got three beautiful daughters, and pretty much everyone around me is a woman. So I don’t know where all that thinking is coming from.”
This declaration came after Nedu’s management team warned Jegede to cease and desist from making further defamatory statements about him, clarifying that she was not coerced into making her comments on the podcast.
