NEMA Distributes Materials To Flood Victims In Jema’a LG
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to 130 victims of flood disaster in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, northwest- Nigeria.
The materials were distributed to the beneficiaries on Wednesday at the local government Secretariat in Kafanchan.
Presenting the relief items to the beneficiaries, the Agency’s Senior Relief and Rehabilitation officer, Kasim Mohammed Jere said NEMA was concerned about the devastating effects of the unfortunate flood disaster on the victims hence the need to assist them.
He sympathised with the victims over the incident which he described as unfortunate and act of God and prayed the disaster should not happen again.
Earlier in his address, the chairman Jema’a Local Government area Hon Peter Danjuma Averik represented by his vice, Hon Ngboni Micah Diggah thanked NEMA for the gesture and called on other spirited and humanitarian organizations to come to the aid of victims to enable them to resettle and live a better life.

He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials presented to them and pleaded with other victims who have not benefited to be patient as the materials he said were not enough to go round.
The chairman however assured victims who have not benefited that they would be considered for the next batch as the local government he said was still expecting materials from the state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA)
The 130 beneficiaries were each presented with one bundle of roofing sheets, one bag of cement, one ceiling sheet and nails.
Eko Hot Blog recalls that Jema’a Local Government has experienced flood disaster in the month of August this year which had destroyed several houses, farmlands, other valuables worth billions of naira in Bayan Loco, Hayin Gada, Ungwan Musa, Atuku, and some parts of Kafanchan metropolis with over 1000 households affected.
