A birthday message shared by Nollywood actor Jim Iyke to fellow actor Kate Henshaw has stirred controversy online, drawing mixed reactions due to the content and tone of his post.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Nigerians have responded both positively and negatively, criticizing the message as disrespectful to Kate Henshaw.

In his post, Jim Iyke revealed that he once had a crush on her and recalled how she supported him in his early acting days, even giving him money for food and transport.
He went on to say that Kate was aware his feelings weren’t entirely pure and joked that if they had been together, their love child would be in their twenties by now.
While some found the message humorous and lighthearted, others viewed it as inappropriate and lacking respect, especially given Kate’s seniority and reputation in the industry.
In response, fellow actor Gideon Okeke criticized Jim Iyke over his post stating how “narc!ss!st!c” his comment was and how such a behaviour if condoned would allow people be “actual pr!cks in real life.”
Nigerians took online to berate Gideon Okeke over his post stating how he shouldn’t be concerned about such a post and should have reserved his comments since the recipient of the message did not complain and must have understood the message in her own way.
Comments stating about how he did not understand the history between the two and was not justified in his reaction and should have only observed the scene reserving his opinions to himself since Kate Henshaw replied and also thanked Jim Iyke for the birthday message.
Despite the drama that has unfolded over the birthday post, Kate Henshaw has not since said anything about the post while posting on her Instagram page to thank well-wishers and also apologizing for the late replies to the birthday messages.
