EDITOR’S PICK:

Certain drugs and drinks may cause an adverse reaction in the body, resulting in harm to the user. If you take your medicines with water, no matter how bitter they are, they’ll be easier to swallow. After drinking your medication with water, take a pinch of glucose and swish it around on your tongue to mask the bitterness.

When taking medication, there are some beverages that you should avoid at all costs

In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some drinks you should never take with drugs.

1. Carbonated drinks

Soft drinks and mineral water are other names for carbonated beverages. Many people take their medications with minerals instead of water, completely unaware of the dangers they are putting themselves in.

Drug breakdown is affected by the consumption of soft drinks. Having a high sugar content, these foods have the potential to cause inflammation.

2. Milk

Those who do not take their medications with milk may choose to lick the milk after swallowing them. Antibiotics like ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, and tetracycline can have their effectiveness reduced when taken with milk.

The absorption of iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc into the intestines is inhibited when certain antibiotics, such as those mentioned above, come into contact with milk.

3. Coffee

Many people use coffee as a substitute for tea, and some even use it as a way to take their medication. The powerful ingredient in coffee, caffeine, may cause adverse pharmacological reactions in humans. Drinking coffee while taking medication can alter the chemistry of the drugs and their breakdown rate.

4. Orange Juice

It was found that orange juice had a significant impact on the timed release of medicine similar to Tylenol, according to experts. There are many medications that contain or have a chemical composition that is similar to Tylenol, and taking them with orange juice is a bad idea because many people are unaware of these medications.

5. Alcoholic Drinks

There are many people who drink alcohol before or after taking medicine, and this is a common method of taking medication. Drinking and taking any kind of substance is a recipe for disaster, whether it be hard narcotics like heroin or prescription medications like Ambien.
