Eko Hot Blog reports that Omobayo Marvellous Godwins, the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Edo State, has made it clear that he has no interest in the political drama between Governor Obaseki and the recently impeached former Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu.

In an interview with Channels Television, Godwins stated, “That is politics for you. Your job, first of all, is to be loyal. Even though Fashola said, ‘may your loyalty not be tested’. I don’t know what had happened in the past; that is not my business. I’m just happy for this opportunity.”
Godwins was appointed to the position after the Edo State House of Assembly impeached Shaibu. The new deputy governor emphasizes that he is focused on his duties and loyal to Governor Obaseki, despite the ongoing tensions between the former political partners.
“I don’t know what had happened in the past; that is not my business. I’m just happy for this opportunity,” Godwins said, further distancing himself from the Obaseki-Shaibu feud.
