New Ministers Ready For Swearing-In After Senate Confirmation

Seven newly confirmed ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet are set to be sworn in following their Senate approval on Wednesday, which came after a five-hour screening.

Among those approved are Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, now Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development; and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the other confirmed appointees include Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Idi Muktar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.

Each nominee discussed their visions for advancing their respective ministries, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio presiding over the final voice vote that confirmed their roles.

Following President Tinubu’s recent dismissal of several ministers on October 21, the new appointees bring fresh leadership perspectives to their respective ministries.

This reshuffle has already sparked transitions in ministries, including the Ministry of Women Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism, both of which recently welcomed new leaders.

Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, accompanied the nominees into plenary after the Senate suspended procedural rules to facilitate the confirmations.

President Tinubu will administer the swearing-in ceremony for these confirmed ministers, empowering them to participate in Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings.

The upcoming FEC session, scheduled for November 4, will include the newly sworn-in ministers, marking the start of their roles in shaping the administration’s agenda and policies.
