Eyewitness accounts suggest the tragedy unfolded when the boy, whose name remains undisclosed, ignited a firework, commonly known as a “knockout,” within the church premises. Reports vary, with some claiming the priest acted in self-defense, while others allege it was an accidental discharge.
The Amaimo community has been thrown into mourning, with residents demanding justice and clarity about the circumstances of the shooting. “The tragic loss is painful to us all,” said one resident, who preferred to remain anonymous.
