Arsenal have suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of newly-promoted side Brentford.
This was the home side’s first match in top flight English football since 1947, the first year of football after World War II, and their fans will have plenty to celebrate after beating one of the country’s best teams in recent history.
Sergi Canos and Christian Nørgaard scored for the bees as they beat the gunners before their fans on Friday evening.
Arsenal started the match brightly, but despite strong spells in possession, were unable to force much work out of goalkeeper David Raya.

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta said that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were left out of Arsenal’s season opener against Brentford because the two “feel unwell”.
Both Aubemeyang and Lacazette featured for Arsenal in pre-season, but the club’s two star attackers did not make the matchday squad for the Premier League opener.
Folarin Balogun was handed his Premier League debut in their stead as the England Under-20 striker joined Arsenal’s attack alongside the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli.
