A Non- Governmental Organization, NGO under the Aegis of Developmental Association for Renewable energy, DARE has introduced first Solar-Bubble-dryer for Nigerian farmers with a view to reducing huge lost of farm products they usually encounter during post harvest period.
Disclosing this to newsmen who visited the center in Kaduna, director of the Ngo Engr. Yahaya Ahmed explained that the innovation became necessary following the need to help farmers minimise wastage of food and other cash crops they usually produced.
He said, the Solar Bubble Dryer, SBD which is the latest low-cost drying technology, was developed to help both rural and urban farmers tackle the problems of post harvest lost in Nigeria.
According to Mr. Yahaya Ahmed, the low operating cost machine is mobile and completely independent from fuel or power and would be used for drying grains, Tomato and other cash crops while the taste remained the same.
He noted that the equipment can last for over 20 years if properly used and maintained in a good condition.

Yahaya however pointed that the model comes in different sizes and capacity which can help local farmers generate more money and saved them from annual lost and damage of their farm crops.

He then appealed to all Nigerian farmers to embrace the initiative which he said was capable of enhancing agricultural activities in the entire 36 states of Nigeria.
He equally called on both federal and state governments to support the initiative and encourage local farmers to acquire skills on its’ maintenance strategy toward sustaining the new technology.
