Nigeria has been drawn into Group D alongside Senegal, Sudan, and the Republic of Congo for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN), which has been rescheduled to August 2025.
The tournament will still be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

The draw, conducted at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi on Wednesday evening, saw Kenya placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia.
Kenya and 2018 champions Morocco are set to face off in the tournament’s opening match.
Tanzania leads Group B, where they will compete against Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, who notably eliminated Cameroon. These five teams will vie for two spots in the knockout stages.
Uganda, the third co-host, heads Group C, where they are set to face Niger Republic, Guinea, and two additional teams to be determined by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as wild card entries.
