Ezekwesili likened Nigeria to a troubled house, stressing the necessity of addressing its faulty foundation for a better future. “Nigeria, the way it is, cannot survive. There is need to restructure this nation,” he asserted, advocating for collective action towards progress.
Highlighting the importance of leadership over mere governance, Ezekwesili emphasized the role of leaders in steering Nigeria towards the right path. He fervently prayed for peace in Nigeria, urging the younger generation to pursue peace over conflict, which only leads to adverse consequences.
Supporting Ezekwesili’s sentiments, Pastor Tunde Bakare acknowledged the pivotal role of Ezekwesili’s husband, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, in advocating for positive change. Bakare praised the couple’s commitment to integrity, competence, and capacity, qualities essential for societal transformation.
The event also featured tributes from the celebrator’s sons and musical performances, adding a touch of celebration to the meaningful discussions about Nigeria’s future.
Reflecting on the broader implications of purpose, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili emphasized the need for society to redefine its objectives, both at the familial and national levels. She underscored the importance of understanding purpose to prevent abuse of power and relationships, urging a collective effort to navigate Nigeria out of its current challenges.
