Nigeria Police Arrest Six, Over Attack On Ikorodu Monarch
Not fewer than six persons have been reportedly arrested over their alleged involvement in the attack of an Ikorodu North monarch, Oba Raji Olukayode.
Mr Olukayode, as Ekohotblog earlier reported, was attacked at his Isiu palace on Friday by thugs allegedly loyal to his rival, Prince Yinusa Jimoh.
The Friday’s attack was said to have been the second on Olukayode who was newly installed and his supporters by thugs from the other camp.
Report had it that the hoodlums first laid siege to the Oba’s boys and allegedly injured one of them on September 2, before storming the palace on September 4, where their attempts to get the monarch was resisted by local vigilantes and community youths.

Ekohotblog also gathered that many people sustained injuries in the fracas that ensued including one of the sons of the monarch.
Confirming the incident, police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, a Superintendent (SP) said six suspects were in custody and that the command was already on the trail of Prince Yinusa Jimoh, who is the rival.
His statement reads; “No one was killed. It was an issue between the newly crowned Oba and his competitor to the throne, Prince Yinusa Jimoh. Two suspects were arrested on September 4, two on September 5, and another two on September 6. We have not gotten Yinusa yet but the Commissioner of Police (CP) Hakeem Odumosu has directed that all those involved in the fracas be arrested. We will get them all,” he said.
