SP Irene Ugbo, the command’s spokesperson, revealed these details during a press briefing in Calabar on Thursday. She stated that Adamu had operated independently as a “mobile police officer” without supervision or adherence to any specific police command since 2015, when the transfer was initiated.
Despite his absence from duty, Adamu continued to receive his salary, prompting his dismissal.
Adamu was exposed by some concerned members of the Nasarawa community, who had reportedly suffered from his illegal activities.
The community raised an alarm when they learnt that the police command was under pressure to release Adamu following his arrest.
Ugbo said, “As of today, Corporal Adamu is no longer a policeman because he has been relieved of his duties.
