Eid-ul-Maulud 2024:
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigerian federal government has designated September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in honor of Eid-ul-Maulud. This holiday commemorates the birth of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, observed during Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
Schools and businesses will close, giving the public time off. For many Muslims, Eid-ul-Maulud is a time for celebration and reflection, often marked by parades, decorated homes, and mosques.
Islamic schools and organizations may also hold educational events to deepen understanding of Prophet Muhammad’s life and teachings. It’s a moment for Muslims to express gratitude for their blessings and renew their commitment to living by Muhammad’s principles.
