Nigeria has recorded four new deaths caused by the coronavirus on Tuesday, according to NCDC.
While giving its daily update of the infection on its verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov, the infectious disease outfit stated that out of the over 63,000 infections so far, 59,634 persons have recovered and have been discharged while it has recorded 1,151 deaths.
With 137 infections reported on Tuesday, the total number of infections in the country is now 63,173. Daily figure of infections has been below 300 for over three months.
The 137 new cases are reported from 16 states. They are: Lagos (60), Abia (21), FCT (18), Rivers (13), Kaduna (5), Oyo (4), Edo (3), Delta (2), Imo (2), Kano (2), Ogun (2), Bauchi (1), Gombe (1), Nasarawa (1), Niger (1), Osun (1).
Nigeria has tested over 630,000 since the country reported its index case on February 28.
However, public health authorities have warned that a second wave of the COVID-19 outbreak is imminent.
