Nigeria Remains Open For Engagement With Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger – FG
Eko Hot Blog reports The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to engage with Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger Republic despite their announcement of withdrawal from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

In response to the joint withdrawal of the three African nations from the regional bloc, the Nigerian government emphasized its readiness for continued engagement and collaboration.
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francisca Omayuli, Nigeria stands firmly with ECOWAS in promoting due process and protecting the rights and welfare of citizens across member states.
Omayuli expressed Nigeria’s concern over the decision by the military authority in Niger to withdraw membership from ECOWAS, stating, “For half a century, ECOWAS has worked to promote peace, prosperity, and democracy in the region.”
She further stated, “Nigeria has worked sincerely and in good faith to reach out to all members of the ECOWAS family to resolve the difficulties being faced.”
Highlighting the importance of regional cooperation, Omayuli reiterated Nigeria’s openness for engagement with Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to ensure that the economic benefits and democratic values upheld by ECOWAS continue to benefit the people of the region.
