Nigeria is expected to receive 176,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines made by Johnson and Johnson on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

The development was confirmed by the Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Shuaib, the J&J vaccine, just like the AstraZeneca, is safe and efficient against the Covid-19 disease, as well as its deadlier Delta Variant.

The J&J vaccine is a single-shot vaccine.

Speaking further, Shuaib debunked reports that the delay in the commencement of the second batch of the COVID-19 inoculation exercise is owing to cases of propriety.
