  • Nigeria Vs Tunisia: “We Are Ready” – Eguavoen

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Super Eagles of Nigeria Technical Adviser, Austin Eguavoen on Friday insisted that his side will approach Tunisia business-like.

Nigeria progressed from Group D at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a perfect record after beating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 on Wednesday.

After wins over Egypt and Sudan, the Super Eagles had already guaranteed their place in the knockout stages as group winners.

Tunisia meanwhile qualified for the round of 16 of the AFCON, despite losing to their Gambian counterpart 1-0 on Thursday at the Limbé stadium. They went through as one of the best losers.

Nigeria and Tunisia met at the last AFCON, in Egypt, where the West Africans defeated the Carthage Eagles to clinch bronze.

Although, many football fans are tipping Nigeria to overcome Tunisia when they meet on Sunday, coach Eguavoen emphasised his side is going to continue working hard.

“We will continue to work hard as we have always done, same approach, same determination, but tactics might defer a little bit,” Eguavoen told NFF media.

“We are ready. Yesterday (Thursday), we did a little bit of recovery training, today we will start working on how we will approach the game against Tunisia.”

Victory for Nigeria will see them face either Gabon or Burkina Faso in the quarter-final of the African football showpiece.
